With the ongoing uncertainty of travel restrictions and port closures in Asia impacting our cruise operations in China and Southeast Asia, we have made the decision to cancel and modify additional voyages on Sapphire Princess in 2020.
Sapphire Princess will redeploy to Australia six months earlier than previously planned with 44 new cruises from five major cities. The new year-long program for Sapphire Princess in Australia will be on sale beginning Thursday, February 27, 2020, by contacting a professional travel advisor, calling Princess Cruises, or booking online.
We will provide complete details to all guests booked on impacted voyages via email, Cruise Personalizer, or their travel advisor.
Guests booked on an Asia cancelled cruise, and have cancelled their booking on or after January 20, 2020, will receive details on a compensation package in the coming weeks.
Based on the prolonged quarantine period, and the anticipated time to prepare the ship to return to service, we unfortunately must cancel additional Diamond Princess voyages through the April 20 voyage. We are preparing Diamond Princess to return to service April 29, 2020 for the start of Japan's annual Golden Week celebrations.
Please continue to consult this Itinerary Modifications page for changes that may impact your voyage. Please minimize calling our Princess call center for itinerary change information as we work through all the travel changes and subsequent impacts on itineraries. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Our team continues working to finalize itinerary changes and to communicate these changes to you as soon as the details are confirmed.
Due to current port restrictions and closures and lack of predictability regarding port availability in our Southeast Asia itineraries going forward, we have made the decision to cancel additional Asia voyages on Sapphire Princess and Majestic Princess. All booked guests will receive a full refund, back to the original form of payment, of their cruise fare, Princess Air, pre- and post-cruise hotel packages, prepaid shore excursions and other prepaid items, and taxes, fees, and port expenses. As these cruises have been cancelled so close to departure, each guest will also receive a Future Cruise Credit.
We will provide complete details to all guests booked on impacted voyages via email and Cruise Personalizer.

We want you to know our team is working hard to finalize itinerary changes and to communicate these changes to you as soon as the details are confirmed.
Changing a ship's itinerary involves multiple complex factors, including port and berth availability which is a fluid and dynamic situation, government regulations on immigration and itineraries, calculations on distance and speed required between ports, supply chain operations for provisions, goods, and fuel, and crew rotations.
These are issues and decisions that teams of people who usually plan itineraries undertake two to three years in advance and are now trying to amend as quickly as possible. Simultaneously, other cruise lines are also making itinerary changes and, in some cases, inquiring on the availability of the same ports, adding to the complexity.
We very much appreciate how eager our guests are to learn about changes to their voyages. We are experiencing higher-than-usual call and email volumes at our Customer Service Centers globally and recommend you not wait on hold or wait for a reply to an individual email response. Please check your email or Cruise Personalizer for more information and continue to check back here for the most current and timely information about changes to all impacted itineraries. Thank you for your continued patience.
Due to ongoing changes in travel restrictions and port closures in Asia, we are reviewing all spring Asia cruise itineraries. We will be in touch with you as soon as any decisions are made to amend or cancel your voyage.

The scheduled calls to Hong Kong on April 28 and July 14, 2020 and Shanghai on May 1, 2020 and July 17, 2020 have been cancelled and replaced with calls to Incheon (Seoul) and Jeju, South Korea. In addition, the scheduled call to Pago Pago, American Samoa on June 22, 2020 has been replaced with a call to Moorea on June 29, 2020. These changes impact multiple voyages and guests have been notified of these changes.
Out of an abundance of caution considering the safety, health and well-bring of our guests, we can confirm the cancellation of the February 13 and February 23 voyages of Sapphire Princess departing from Singapore.
There are no suspected cases of coronavirus onboard Sapphire Princess. Guests and travel advisors have been notified by Princess Cruises and those guests on the ground in Singapore are being hosted in local hotels while being aided book onward travel.
Information on the details regarding automatic refunds to the original form of payment has been provided to guests and/or their travel advisor, along with information on how Princess Cruises will reimburse unexpected expenses, such as air change fees. Reimbursement of reasonable out-of-pocket expenses will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Because the cruises were cancelled close to the departure dates, guests will also receive a future cruise credit.
Caribbean Princess, which had been on a 14-day cruise in the Caribbean, has curtailed its voyage out of an abundance of caution due to guests reporting symptoms consistent with a mild case of gastrointestinal illness. Those individuals are being treated by the onboard medical team, and there are no cases of coronavirus identified among guests or crew.
The ship, with 4,196 guests and crew, is now sailing back to the Port of Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, and is scheduled to arrive at the port at 7:00 AM Eastern Time on Thursday, February 13.
This is a highly unusual development and we share the disappointment of our guests. However, the health and safety of our guests and crew is our top priority, and in working with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), it was decided out of an abundance of caution, in this specific instance, to discontinue the cruise.
All guests will receive a 50% refund on their voyage and a future cruise credit valued at 50% of their cruise for this inconvenience.
Caribbean Princess will resume its schedule with a February 16 departure from Port Everglades for a round-trip Circle Caribbean cruise.
